In this week, our study is focusing on Social Media. Due to the development of Web 2.0, the communication pattern in online media changed from one-way traffic (reading) to two-way traffics (reading and writing). This led to a revolution in the internet era, users became curators on the social media platform, people could make influence the internet by publishing their own content.
Things have learned:
Remix culture: people re-edit or re-mix the existing materials to express a new idea.
Social Media Meme: it is a kind of online content to spread concepts and ideas. A meme is a piece of media that usually combine a picture or video with a phrase, making an easy understanding to people.
Cancel Culture: it is an online banishment action to those who have spoken incorrect speech or behaved immoral act.
Moodboard: this is a collection of ideas that we will use to build our website.
Site Structure: we can use the site map tool, such as Gloomap, to plan our linkage between different web pages.
Wire Frames: this is a step of the website design process, we will draw a page layout to present the design elements. We could also consider the corresponding UI in this step.
Moreover, Eugenie showed us some examples of e-waste issues, giving some ideas for our individual project. Also gave some suggestions to improve our website design, like font selection.
We are asked to develop our mood board for individuals and groups. On the other hand, we keep continuing to develop the Power Of Ten chart on the group project.

Remix: Making Art and Commerce Thrive in the Hybrid Economy by Lawrence Lessig in 2008 describes the remix culture. The book itself is open for remix due to its availability under a CC BY-NC license.
